March 2010: Upcoming Services
March 7: “The Song Is You.”
Guest speaker/musician Jeannie Gagné; additional music by David M. Glasgow, Marc Renault, Nick Curry, and the UUCV/Community Choir.
What drives musicians to do what they do? And why do even non-musicians find music to be such a powerful way to experience the Divine? A music-filled service, including echoes of Saturday evening’s concert, that is not to be missed.
March 14: 10:00 a.m. Family Worship: “Wow! Oops...Please? Thanks.”
The Revs. Judy Welles and Duane Fickeisen with Heather Flaherty.
We will explore ways to bring four types of prayer into family life: expressing awe, acknowledging error, asking for help, and giving thanks. We will practice being silent and receptive and we will offer our prayers. All are welcome!
March 14: 10:30 a.m. “The Call to Stewardship in the Free Church.”
The Revs. Duane Fickeisen and Judy Welles, with Clara Cozort, Junior Worship Assistant. Music by David M. Glasgow and the Recorder Trio.
Universalists fought for the right to support their own congregations financially while Unitarians were among the last churches to benefit from public support through town taxes. Thank goodness we neither depend on taxes nor have to fight to support our own congregation. What does it mean to be a steward of your congregation, and how does generosity nourish a robust spiritual life?
March 21: Story Sunday: “The Gifts of Wali Dad.”
The Rev. Judy Welles and Dan Cozort, Worship Associate. Music by David M. Glasgow.
How did Wali Dad, a poor grass-cutter in Pakistan, end up becoming best friends with the queen of Khaistan and the king of Nekabad?
Through his own generosity, of course!
Children of all ages will remain in the sanctuary for the entire service. The nursery will be open for our youngest or most restless children.
Please note: Town Hall Meeting at 12p.m. after the Service.

March 28: “The Entire History of Unitarian Universalism (Abridged).”
Marc Renault, Worship Associate, and Julie Ham, liturgist. Music by Julie Moffit
Where did we come from and who were the people that shaped our religion? We will consider the big themes of Unitarianism and Universalism, and ponder the twists and turns of fate that made UU what it is today.
